This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Telstar Investments Limited was fined €7,500 in a case heard at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 19 July 2021. The company pleaded guilty to an offence under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.

On 24 June 2016, at Findlater House, Findlater Place, Dublin 1, the company failed to manage work activities so as to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of its employees. The offence concerned the removal of asbestos-containing ceiling boards and the cleaning up of debris, exposing employees to the risk of inhaling asbestos fibres.

The Health and Safety Authority’s report also records a guilty plea to an offence under Regulation 8(1) of the asbestos exposure regulations, which was taken into consideration.

The report states that the level of the €7,500 fine was under appeal on grounds of undue leniency.
