Sychulec and Gruchacz guilty of murder in Athlone

Patryk Krupa was beaten unconscious and left to drown in the River Shannon outside Athlone on 20 June 2014.

The jury heard that both men took Mr Krupa from Athlone before assaulting him in a car and at the river.

The jury returned unanimous verdicts on all counts after deliberating for five hours.
