Suzanna Hassett was jailed for six years, with the final 18 months suspended, after the Court of Appeal resentenced her for indecent and sexual assault on 11 July 2023, the date the outcome was reported.

She had pleaded guilty to 13 counts of indecent assault and four counts of sexual assault against her son, in two periods when he was an infant and later aged seven to 11.

The appeal court reduced the original eight-year term, ordering two three-year sentences to run consecutively after finding the sentence too high.
