This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Mark Lee and Anthony Delappe have been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering Josip Strok, who died after an attack in Clondalkin in March 2024. Both men were also sentenced for assault causing harm to Strok’s friend David Druzinec; those prison terms will run concurrently with their life sentences.
The sentencing judge said Lee acted on weak hearsay that Strok and Druzinec had assaulted a child, and described Lee’s online statements as ugly, ill-informed and discriminatory. She said Delappe’s offence was not aggravated by hatred and that he had been provoked by inaccurate information from Lee. A jury found Connor Rafferty not guilty of Strok’s murder; he is due to be sentenced for the assault on Druzinec next week.
