This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Shane Flynn was jailed for three and a half years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for possession of drugs for sale or supply. Judge Orla Crowe ordered the sentence to run consecutively to a four-year sentence Flynn is already serving. Flynn pleaded guilty to the charge on 18 September 2024. The proceedings were reported on 25 February 2026.

The drugs, including cocaine, heroin, cannabis and tablets, had an overall value of €396,441. Flynn accepted responsibility and said he was working to pay an €80,000 drug debt linked to his son and feared for his life. The prosecution accepted that he had previously gone a long period without offending and that his earlier convictions fit the profile of someone with heroin addiction.
