Sean Walsh pleaded not guilty to an IRA membership charge at the Special Criminal Court on 12 February 2018.
The charge alleges membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Óglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise the IRA, on 14 December 2016.
The prosecution closed its case after evidence concerning surveillance, firearms recovered in Cork and a DNA profile found on a woolly hat.
The defence did not call evidence, and the court was due to give judgment on 2 March 2018.
