Sandra Kavanagh received an eight-month suspended sentence for careless driving causing death at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 7 November 2022. She was also disqualified from driving for four years by Judge Martin Nolan after the fatal M50 collision near Finglas on 19 November 2019.
Kavanagh pleaded guilty after the charge was downgraded from dangerous driving causing death. The defence said a safety report found she might not have seen the motorcyclist, while the judge noted no excessive speed, alcohol, drugs or phone use.
