This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Raymond Heney was convicted of colluding to drive up school bus tender prices after a jury at the Central Criminal Court unanimously convicted five men of a concerted practice alleged to have prevented, restricted or distorted competition in school transport services. The proceedings were reported on 18 December 2025. Heney pleaded not guilty to the single charge, which concerned conduct between 1 November 2014 and 31 December 2016.

Mr Justice David Keane remanded Heney on continuing bail, with sentencing listed for 23 March 2026. Dermot B Cahill SC had argued that Heney supported fellow bus operators and helped with tender forms, rather than attempting to create price fixing. The report said the defence argued that the prosecution had failed to prove its case.
