Paul Clarke was jailed for six years for rape at the Central Criminal Court on 20 February 2023. The offence took place in Meath on 11 February 2007.

A jury convicted Clarke after a trial, following an earlier trial at which jurors could not agree on a verdict. He had denied the charge.

The judge set a headline sentence of seven and a half years, reduced it to six years after considering mitigating factors, imposed 18 months of post-release supervision and backdated the sentence to when Clarke entered custody in December 2022.
