Niall Sheil received a four-year suspended sentence for robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 28 November 2018. The sentence followed his guilty pleas to two robbery charges arising from the raid on Dympna’s Clairvoyant in Walkinstown on 6 January 2015.
The Irish Times reported that Judge Melanie Greally had sentenced Sheil after hearing evidence in October 2015. Sheil, who was armed with a steel bar, was involved in taking cash, purses and phones from staff and customers.
The report said Sheil had 18 previous convictions, mainly for theft, road traffic and drugs offences, but none for robbery or violence.
