Mark Carlisle lost his appeal against a violent disorder conviction at the Court of Appeal on 28 June 2019.

The case arose from an assault in Crumlin, where a man was kicked repeatedly after being knocked to the ground.

Carlisle had also been convicted of assault causing harm after a three-day Circuit Criminal Court trial in July 2018.

He challenged identification evidence, arguing that the procedure used by gardaí was unfair and should have been excluded.

The Court of Appeal found no error in admitting the evidence and dismissed the appeal.
