Lucy Ewins loses injunction bid over alleged trespass at Galway property

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court struck out Lucy Ewins’s bid to halt the sale of what she claims is her Galway home on 18 April 2024, after the defendants said she had failed to progress the injunction application.

The application concerned her claim that Promontoria Scariff Designated Activity Company and receiver David O’Connor were trying to sell the property at The Rise, Knocknacarra, Galway. The defendants strongly denied her allegations. Ms Ewins rejected their claims that the house was an investment property or that she lived at an address in Rush, Co Dublin.

Mr Justice Mark Sanfey also made a costs order against Ms Ewins, with a three-month stay during which he wanted to see significant progress in her main action. He said the court would otherwise be inclined to agree to any application by the defendants to strike out the proceedings entirely. The matter was adjourned.
