Man jailed for five years over sexual offences against teenager

Aidan Duffy of Crowe Street, Gort, Co Galway, was jailed for five years after pleading guilty to sexual assault and engaging in a sexual act with a child under 17. The offences took place in Co Galway in June 2023, when the girl was 16.

The judge set a five-year sentence for engaging in the sexual act offence and a six-year sentence for sexual assault, suspending the final year of the latter for two years.
