Liam Patrick Daly was ordered extradited to Germany on an attempted aggravated robbery charge by the High Court on 22 May 2023.

The allegation concerns an attempted robbery at a Berlin takeaway on 18 February 1994, when Daly allegedly entered armed with a wooden chair leg and tried to strike a worker and take money. The worker defended himself and was not injured.

Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo rejected Daly’s objection based on the passage of time, finding that Daly had contributed significantly to the delay. He said the German authorities had pursued the case and that the alleged attack was not minor.

The judge ordered Daly’s surrender to Germany, but postponed it until 24 July 2023 to allow time for arrangements for his mother’s care.
