This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Lee O’Brien, who had 228 previous convictions, was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for robbing a Circle K on Dundrum Road, Dublin, with a knife. The court suspended the final six months. The robbery took place on June 3rd, 2021, and O’Brien pleaded guilty.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that O’Brien demanded the notes from the tills and €350 was handed over. The victim later left her job because of the incident. Judge Orla Crowe described the offence as deliberate and organised, and said it had affected the victim’s work. The court also heard the case had been delayed by Covid; O’Brien had failed to appear after taking a trial date and a bench warrant was issued.
