Kevin Kletzander was sentenced to four and a half years in prison, with the final 12 months suspended, at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 27 July 2023 for sexually assaulting nine women in Dublin city. The proceedings were reported on 27 July 2023.

The sentence was backdated to August 2021; Kletzander had been in custody since then. Judge Orla Crowe said the assaults violated the women’s bodily integrity and dignity, and noted his mental health difficulties and need for rehabilitation.

Kletzander pleaded guilty to nine counts of sexual assault committed on 5, 12, 27 and 28 August 2021 at locations including the Ilac Shopping Centre, Aston Quay, Usher Island, Grafton Street and Store Street Garda Station. He had no previous convictions.

Judge Crowe ordered Kletzander to be of good behaviour for four and a half years and to follow all Probation Service directions, particularly those concerning his mental health treatment and eventual rehousing and resettlement.
