Kevin Brazil was sentenced to 15 months in jail for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 20 December 2022.

Brazil pleaded guilty to one count involving an offence committed between January and July 2020 at Blessington Lakes, County Wicklow.

Judge Martin Nolan backdated the sentence to January 2022, and Brazil was already serving eight years for previous sexual assault convictions.

The judge said the touching was at the lower end of offending but considered Brazil’s provision of cigarettes and drink and his serious offending history.

The defence said Brazil had behaved well after a substantial 2004 sentence, was working in custody and was using psychological services.
