Kevin Brazil was jailed for two and a half years for sexual assault of a child at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 19 January 2021. The offence involved a 12-year-old boy in Dublin between May and August 2002.

Mr Justice Michael White set a five-year sentence and reduced it by half, taking into account the delay in prosecution, Brazil’s co-operation and guilty plea. Brazil had previously received a fully suspended three-year sentence after admitting six further counts of sexually assaulting a child.
