By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Keith Brady’s jury was discharged after failing to reach a verdict in his murder trial at the Central Criminal Court on 27 November 2017.

Brady had pleaded not guilty to murdering Martin ‘Matt’ Kivlehan but guilty to manslaughter; that plea was not accepted. The jury heard that Kivlehan died after being stabbed in Sligo between 2 and 3 August 2015. Brady accepted that he stabbed Kivlehan and caused his death. He was remanded until 4 December 2017, when there might be an opportunity to deal with the matter.
