KC Capital challenges fire safety requirements in Dublin

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

KC Capital Property Group Limited has challenged fire safety requirements for its proposed Dublin development, reported on 12 December 2023.

The company disputes conditions requiring structural elements to resist fire for at least 120 minutes and a sprinkler system throughout the building, arguing the measures should not apply because the proposed building is under 30 metres tall. An Bord Pleanála dismissed its appeal against the conditions. The High Court granted permission for a judicial review challenge and adjourned the case until February.
