Jonathan Collopy’s drink-driving extradition case was adjourned by the High Court on 24 November 2020 to allow a report on Bulgarian prison conditions. Collopy, of St Mary’s Park, Limerick, is wanted in Bulgaria after being convicted in his absence and sentenced to 18 months for drink-driving. His barrister said an expert report was needed to support objections concerning prison conditions. Mr Justice Paul Coffey adjourned the case to 21 December for mention. Collopy had been arrested on 5 November on a European Arrest Warrant issued by Bulgarian authorities.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
