A man accused of abducting and assaulting Kevin Lunney launched a High Court challenge, reported on 22 June 2021, claiming judicial review time limits are unconstitutional.
The unnamed man had previously challenged the Special Criminal Court’s jurisdiction, but that application was dismissed as out of time. Mr Justice Charles Meenan directed the new application to be heard on notice to the respondents. The matter was due to return before the courts in October.
