John Murphy was jailed for six and a half years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for possessing cannabis, reported on 4 October 2022.

The drugs were found at his home in Clontarf and in his car during a search on 29 September 2021.

The court was told that almost 13kg of cannabis was seized, valued at just over €259,000.

Judge Martin Nolan said Murphy was holding the drugs for someone else for financial reward and knew the criminal behaviour involved.
