John Connolly pleaded guilty to theft at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, with sentencing adjourned, in a report dated 19 December 2019. The thefts from IMC Cinema in Omni Park, Santry, amounted to €217,203 and occurred between April 2016 and July 2018. The court heard that Connolly had worked as the cinema’s general manager and admitted taking the money after a change in security arrangements gave him access to the safe. The report said he had no previous convictions and that no money had been recovered.
