John Bowe has pleaded not guilty to conspiring to mislead investors at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, in a report published on 15 April 2016.
The charge relates to alleged financial transactions involving Anglo Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent between March and September 2008.
During the trial, State expert witness Mark Hunt said a €7.2 billion back-to-back deal had no commercial or economic substance. He accepted that balance-sheet management was legitimate, but said it was not legitimate when done by artificial means.
The trial was continuing before Judge Martin Nolan and a jury, with proceedings due to finish the following month.
