Jayne Kearney has sentence cut for dangerous driving
This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.
Jayne Kearney had the final nine months of her three-year sentence suspended by the Court of Appeal on 16 December 2016. She had pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm and driving while intoxicated after hitting Blathnaid Molloy in Citywest, Dublin, on 8 March 2014.
The court said the original sentence was not inappropriate, but the sentencing judge had failed to consider suspension as an incentive for rehabilitation. Kearney was also required to enter a good behaviour bond, which she agreed to do.
