Jurors in Jason O'Driscoll’s double murder trial at the Central Criminal Court began considering their verdict on 30 July 2018.

O'Driscoll pleaded not guilty to murdering Anthony Burnett and Joseph Redmond in Co Louth on 7 March 2012. The proceedings were reported on 1 August 2018.

On 1 August, after the jury had deliberated for just over five hours that day, it was told it could reach a majority verdict of at least 10. After almost two more hours of deliberations, Mr Justice Michael White told the jurors to stop for the day.

The judge said the court would give further directions the following morning if deliberations were deadlocked.
