This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

James Noonan was remanded on bail after pleading guilty to possessing heroin for sale or supply at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, as reported on 15 January 2014.

The charge arose after Gardaí found 246 grammes of heroin, valued at €36,981, in Balgaddy fields, Ronanstown, on 17 April 2012.

The court was told that the heroin was carried in a 10-litre mayonnaise bucket with weighing scales, bags and a spoon.

Judge Mary Ellen Ring delayed sentencing because Noonan was a full-time carer for his grandmother and later remanded him on bail pending sentencing.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
