An 18-year-old travelling by e-scooter along the Liffey boardwalk became aware that Graham Kinsella was following him on another scooter, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard. On Liffey Street, Kinsella kicked the teenager off, causing him to fall against construction railings, and punched him several times. A co-accused, who remains before the courts, then stabbed the teenager, the court heard. The teenager spent several days in hospital; the court heard that Kinsella was not responsible for his puncture wounds.
Kinsella admitted assault causing harm on May 19, 2024, and the court heard he later identified himself on CCTV. Judge Elva Duffy described the incident as unprovoked and said there was no justification for the violence. On May 14, 2025, Kinsella, 21, was sentenced to two years, with the final six months suspended on strict conditions.
