This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Graham Dwyer’s murder trial heard video evidence recovered from his home.

He denies murdering Elaine O'Hara on 22 August 2012. RTÉ’s report was updated on 10 March 2015.

The jury was shown three clips appearing to show Dwyer stabbing Elaine O'Hara. Another video showed him stabbing himself in the leg, while a separate recording showed him saying he had knocked himself out with chloroform. Other footage appeared to show him stabbing another woman; a clip called “fake stabbing” appeared to show him pretending to stab a woman.

Detective Garda Brid Wallace said she found 38 movie files in unallocated space on a hard drive recovered from Dwyer’s home. The files had been deleted but remained recoverable.

The trial also heard details of almost 420 messages exchanged between Elaine O'Hara and a number the prosecution alleged Dwyer used. Contact between the numbers began on 25 March 2011. In a message dated 28 March 2011, the sender discussed an urge to rape, stab and kill. She replied: “Control sir. Not satisfy”.

Wallace also described violent images on a laptop from Dwyer’s home, last accessed on 16 October 2013. She agreed that many documents had been accessed that day and that this could be consistent with an automated computer scan.

Before the videos were shown, Mr Justice Tony Hunt ordered the public to leave for a third day. He told jurors to assess the evidence objectively and put feelings and emotions aside.
