Glen Byrne was sentenced to three and a half years, with the final six months suspended, for possessing criminal proceeds at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 2 July 2018. The cash was found at Dublin Auto Prestige Carwash on Greenhills Road in June 2017.
The €350,000 was divided into seven taped bales, each containing approximately €50,000, and stored in a box in a van Byrne was driving.
Judge Martina Baxter took account of Byrne’s lack of previous convictions, early guilty plea and supporting testimonials when suspending part of the sentence.
