This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Gibson Brothers (Ireland) Ltd was fined €30,000 for health and safety breaches at Dundalk Circuit Court, reported on 21 October 2011. The case followed the death of Michael Reynolds after he fell at road works outside Clogherhead Community Hall.

The company pleaded guilty to breaches arising from inadequate protection around the works, including a lack of barriers, poor lighting and weaknesses in traffic management and risk assessment. The Health and Safety Authority said construction work near public roads must protect members of the public as well as employees.

This case may have concluded differently. The outcome has not yet been confirmed by a public source we could find.
