Gavin Walsh pleaded guilty to possessing a stolen Ford Focus at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 2 November 2015. The vehicle had been stolen from a tow truck in Santry, Dublin, and was advertised for sale on Done Deal.
Gardaí arranged a sting operation, and Walsh arrived driving the car before attempting to sell it to undercover officers. Its plates and discs had been cloned, but the vehicle was recovered and returned to its owners.
The court heard Walsh was also linked to an Audi A4 advertised with cloned plates after it was bought using a fake bank draft. That vehicle was also returned.
Sentencing was adjourned until the end of the following month for a probation report.
