This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Eamonn Cumberton's murder conviction appeal was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on 19 May 2020. The original murder occurred at the Sunset House pub on Summerhill Parade, Dublin 1, on 25 April 2016. Cumberton had been convicted by the Special Criminal Court and sentenced to life imprisonment on 29 January 2018. The appeal court held that his trial was satisfactory, the verdict was safe and none of his appeal grounds should succeed. The prosecution case had been entirely circumstantial. Evidence described firearms, ammunition, masks and other items recovered from a fire-damaged Audi, while Cumberton was forensically linked to a baseball cap and rubber mask found in the vehicle.
