This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Dwayne Barry was sentenced for arson at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 10 April 2019, receiving three years in prison with the final 12 months suspended. The fires damaged two cars and buildings at Ballsbridge locations in January and February 2016.

Barry had pleaded guilty to both arson charges, involving €45,000 damage to a garage and two cars at Ardoyne House, and more than €18,000 structural damage at Burlington House. Judge Karen O’Connor accepted that he had apologised and tried to extinguish the fires, while noting the serious danger posed by arson. The court also heard that Barry had set wheelie bins alight to dry and warm his sleeping bag while homeless.
