Dublin City Council brought a second High Court challenge to An Bord Pleanála’s approval of Johnny Ronan’s docklands apartment plan, reported on 16 July 2020. The proposed Spencer Place development is in Dublin’s north docklands.
The plan covers 464 build-to-rent apartments and 200 co-living bed spaces across two blocks rising to 11 and 13 storeys. The council seeks to overturn the planning permission through judicial review.
If the approval withstands the challenge, the developer could deliver 115 additional apartments and replace a proposed aparthotel with 200 shared bed spaces across 120 bedrooms.
