A woman and her former partner gave sworn undertakings at the High Court on 1 February 2019 not to interfere with a Dublin 6 property until the full case brought by Shawl Property Investments Ltd has been determined. The pair cannot be named for legal reasons.
Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds was told that the property had been vacated, a set of keys handed over and Shawl had regained access. The company had secured a temporary injunction requiring the pair to leave the premises.
Shawl claimed that the man and six accomplices broke into the house, changed the locks and forced the occupants out. It said the woman and their teenage daughters entered later that evening. The report said eight new occupants had been forced out.
The woman had claimed a right of residence in the property through family law proceedings, but her claims were rejected by the courts. Shawl also rejected a claim that the property was owned by a trust established for the daughters.
The judge warned that a breach of the latest order could lead to both of them being jailed for contempt. She adjourned the case for a week to allow them to respond to the allegations.
