David Ward and Lynsey Ivory pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to attempting dishonestly by deception to cause a loss to FBD Insurance. The charge covered dates between 22 July 2013 and 1 January 2014. The case was before Judge Martin Nolan.

The couple claimed injury and submitted personal injury claims while denying they knew each other. Garda Neill Plunkett told prosecutor Martina Baxter BL that an FBD claims handler examined their Facebook accounts and noticed that they appeared in each other’s profile pictures.
