This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

David Gregan pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement to a solicitor at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 21 March 2023. Judge Martin Nolan proposed 150 hours of community service instead of a prison sentence, subject to Gregan being deemed suitable, and adjourned the case for a Probation Service assessment.

The statement concerned a claim that Gregan was injured after witnessing a collision between a bus and a car in Dublin city centre in 2017. He withdrew the claim in 2018, no payment was made, and the other parties incurred €9,000 in legal fees. The matter was due to return to court on 12 June.
