Christopher Dunne was jailed for five and a half years for robbery and attempted robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 29 July 2019. The offences occurred across Dublin between 24 October and 11 December 2017. Consecutive sentences of three years and four and a half years were imposed, with the final 24 months suspended on condition that Dunne keep the peace.

The court was told Dunne took part in nine robberies over seven weeks and used a knife, screwdriver and claw hammer during the hold-ups. He pleaded guilty and had 89 previous convictions. Judge Karen O’Connor said the crimes caused fear and distress, and suspended part of the sentence to encourage rehabilitation.
