Charles Allen faces High Court injunction over Dublin property

By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Charles Allen became subject to an interim High Court injunction on 22 July 2014 over alleged unlawful occupation of a Dublin property. The order prevented him, his servants or agents from entering, attending at, watching or besetting premises at Merrion Square.

The owners, Claude Fettes, Annette Cooper and Marc Godart, alleged that Mr Allen and supporters forced their way into the building earlier that month and remained there for several days. They also alleged that carpets were removed, while counsel said the occupation prevented a sound recording business from accessing its basement.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan granted the injunction on an ex-parte basis, with the matter due to return later that week. The report records allegations and an interim order, rather than a final ruling on the underlying property dispute.
