At Riad Bouchaker’s sentencing hearing at the Central Criminal Court on 12 October, the judge heard victim impact statements from families affected by the Parnell Square attack. Bouchaker had been convicted earlier this year of attempting to murder three children and of offences against a childcare worker, two other children and a teenager who intervened.
The defence addressed Bouchaker’s mental capacity in relation to sentencing. Mr Justice Tony Hunt said he had a lot to consider and adjourned sentencing until 16 November.
