By Eimear Byrne

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Paul Clarke is serving seven years and six months, with five months suspended, for robbing a Lidl with a firearm, after the Court of Appeal resentenced him in February 2025. The robbery took place at the supermarket on the Malahide Road on 13 November 2019.

Clarke’s later Central Criminal Court sentencing hearing concerned his guilty plea to participating in a criminal organisation in connection with the killing of Eoin Boylan. Boylan was shot several times at his family home on Clonshaugh Avenue, Dublin, on 24 November 2019 and died from his injuries.

At the hearing, Mr Justice Paul McDermott remanded Clarke in custody until Friday, 9 October 2026, when he was due to be sentenced for that offence. The judge had not yet imposed a sentence at the time of the report.
