Boguslaw Sajor was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 17 November 2022.

Sajor pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs for sale or supply. He also pleaded guilty to possession of a mobile phone with an encrypted application on 17 November 2022.

The court heard that goods transported from Malaga in Spain were intercepted on their way to a supposed company at Duleek Business Park. Sajor arrived in a van to collect the pallets, and gardaí followed and stopped the van on the N7.

Detective Garda Gary Folan said the three pallets contained cannabis herb valued at €692,000 and cannabis resin valued at €900,000. The court heard that a phone found in the van contained an encrypted message thread referring to cannabis and instructions on dividing drugs.

Michael Bowman SC, defending, said Sajor had acted on the instructions of others, while knowing he was doing something he should not. Bowman said Sajor had stated that he would be in trouble if he did not take the pallets.

Judge Martin Nolan said a custodial sentence was necessary. He took account of Sajor’s guilty plea and cooperation with gardaí and gave him credit for time already served in the case.
