Andrius Lipinskas was sentenced to 15 years, with the final two-and-a-half years suspended, for rape at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 6 June 2019. The attack happened in a Dublin woman’s home nine years earlier. A jury had found him guilty of three counts of oral rape and aggravated sexual assault after a 12-day trial. Judge Tony Hunt said Lipinskas was dangerous and ordered that he leave Ireland when released, without returning without the court’s permission.

The court heard that Lipinskas repeatedly assaulted the woman during a 20-minute attack before she escaped to a neighbouring house. He had left Ireland after the attack and was later extradited for trial after DNA evidence linked him to the scene.
