Andrew Healy was jailed for sexually abusing his younger sister, receiving a seven-and-a-half-year sentence with the final year suspended at the Central Criminal Court. The report says Justice Tony Hunt sentenced him on 14 November 2022. The abuse occurred mainly at the family home in Ballingcollig, Co Cork.

Healy had pleaded guilty to 16 counts of sexually assaulting the child and to attempted rape. The offending spanned dates between 1992 and 2009. The judge said the offending was significant over a notably long period and accepted Healy was remorseful.

The suspended year was subject to conditions, including one year of Probation Service supervision after release, no unsupervised presence with anyone under 18, and no contact with the woman without her permission.
