This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Andrew Finni was acquitted of sexual assault at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 25 November 2021.

He had pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a woman at a Dublin convenience shop on 21 February 2018. Judge Elma Sheahan directed the jury to return a not guilty verdict after the defence argued that missing CCTV footage denied him a fair trial.

The report said the complainant gave evidence about the alleged assault, while Finni told gardaí the footage would support his account that she invited him to check her private parts. Judge Sheahan said the ruling was not a judgment on the allegations or the complainant’s evidence.
