The Supreme Court dismissed Alan McNamara’s appeal against his murder conviction on 26 June 2020. The conviction arose from the shooting of Andrew O’Donoghue at the gates of the Road Tramps motorcycle club in Mountfune, Limerick, on 20 June 2015.
McNamara had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Central Criminal Court on 27 October 2017. His lawyers argued that the trial judge should have allowed provocation to go before the jury, but the Supreme Court rejected that submission.
