This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Ahemd Yagoub was jailed for two years and nine months for sexual assault at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 9 November 2021.

The sentence followed five incidents involving sexual assault, exposure and assault in a Dublin park during June and July 2020. The report said Yagoub pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault, two counts of exposure and one count of assault.

Judge Melanie Greally imposed concurrent one-year sentences for three other offences and adjourned sentence on the fifth offence to February for a Probation Service risk assessment.

The judge noted the victims’ reported nightmares, depression, fear and anxiety. She also considered Yagoub’s documented history of bipolar disorder and depression and his lack of previous convictions.
