Jake Kelly received a three-year sentence, suspended in full, for possession of cannabis for sale or supply at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 9 November 2021.
The offence took place at Carrickmines Green, Carrickmines, on 11 September 2019. The court was told Kelly’s car was searched during a garda surveillance operation, and two blocks of cannabis resin worth €14,400 were found inside.
Kelly had pleaded guilty to the offence. Judge Pauline Codd said he had taken a deliberate decision to enter the drug distribution chain, while recognising that he was vulnerable and had been assessed as a low risk of reoffending.
The sentence was suspended in its entirety on strict conditions.
